SAVE OUR SCHOOLS! An anti-violence initiative

PHI SIGMA SIGMA AT BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY
IS SUPPORTING A NATIONWIDE PETITION TO END SCHOOL VIOLENCE called "SAVE OUR SCHOOLS!" (SOS).
We do so in the spirit of our Twin Ideals: to promote the brotherhood of man and alleviation of the world's pain. We believe something can be done to end or reduce the risks of violence in every learning institution.
An important note: While the Epsilon Zeta Chapter is supportive of this pro-safety, anti-violence initiative following the Virginia Tech tragedy, this support is not representative in any way of the views of international Phi Sigma Sigma. Our support is non-political in nature. To us, the issue is much larger than school shootings. We simply care about students and educators and feel there's been enough violence in schools lately (including assaults, bullying, gang proliferation and more) that if we can help in some small way, that's a good thing.
Bloomsburg University, founded in 1839 as a "normal college" (i.e., teaching college) in northeast Pennsylvania, is renowned for its educational majors, and it has a rich history of training excellent teachers who serve nationwide. The majority of our sisters are or have been in the teaching profession. Anti-violence in schools is an issue we care deeply about. But it affects everyone. You can help!
